We offer a wide range of programs and services to meet the needs of those affected by our cause.

Community Impact: A series of three annual events which provide vital services to Lincoln’s youth and families. 

• The Annual VY Free Haircut and Backpack Event is a fun, safe family event held prior to each new school year where young people get free haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, undergarments, personal hygiene items, and shoe vouchers and can participate in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and other fun activities, have a free lunch, and connect to community resources.
• The Annual VY Community Holiday Food Giveaway is an opportunity for families to receive a full Thanksgiving meal package and winter clothing to families.
• The Annual VY Holiday Toy Giveaway distributes gifts for youth 18 and under to help make the holidays a special time of year.

The Community Hub: The VY Community Hub provides a central gathering space for youth and their families to access information on relevant resources and services, participate in educational programs, receive tutoring, and access counseling through VY network therapists.

Mentoring in New Dimensions (MIND): MIND is a combination barbershop mentoring and peer group counseling program designed to support minority youth to foster caring relationships, identify and enhance personal strengths, build confidence, and open new doors to opportunities by establishing a circle of support with their peers and positive adult role models. MIND is a 10-week program offered in conjunction with organizations that serve racially and economically diverse youth.
